What is Mercedes-Benz DYNAMIC Select?

Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with a drive mode selector called Dynamic Select which allows you to choose between multiple drive modes.

The Eco Mode

One of the modes available with the DYNAMIC Select system is the Eco Mode. This drive mode optimises the engine and the transmission’s parameters in order to allow for the best fuel economy possible. This setting also activates the start/stop system which saves fuel by turning the engine off at stop lights and automatically turning it back on when you release the brake.

The comfort mode

Comfort mode is the default setting for your Mercedes-Benz, the mode which is automatically selected when you start the engine. This mode offers you the maximum amount of comfort possible by softening the air suspension, making the transmission shift as smoothly as possible and reducing the amount of effort needed to turn the steering wheel.

The Sport mode

For a more dynamic driving experience, your Mercedes is equipped with the sport mode. This option firms up the suspension and the steering as well as sharpening the response of the accelerator to provide a sportier driving experience that is more engaging than comfort mode.

The Sport + mode

To unleash the maximum performance and the sportiest character of your Mercedes-Benz, the DYNAMIC Select system features the sport + mode. Selecting it sets the air suspension to its lowest and firmest setting, it makes the steering much heavier and more communicative, it makes the engine respond quicker to your foot’s input and it commands the transmission to shift as quickly as possible.

The Individual mode

The large choice of driving modes offered by the DYNAMIC Select system means that most people will find the setting that best suits their preferences, but if you don’t, you shouldn’t worry. Indeed, the last mode is called Individual since it is tailored to your own desires. This mode allows you to mix and match the characteristics of the other drive modes to create your own personalised setting. For example, you might find you like driving around in sport mode but you would prefer the accelerator to respond like it does in Comfort mode, you can experience this with the Individual mode.
