Three ways to protect your vehicle in winter

If you don't like winter, tell yourself that you are not alone. If your vehicle had its way, it would probably tell you that it hates it more than you do. In fact, the winter weather cocktail, combined with all the stuff that's left on the road for us to ride, is making your ride a living hell. Consequently, you have to think about protecting it. Here are three ways to do so.

1 - Protective undercoat

You immediately think of a rustproofing treatment to protect your car in winter. That's fine, but you need to go a little further, especially with a treatment for the entire surface under your vehicle. Think about it; that's where the elements attack with the most virulence and that's also where the greatest number of components that can be damaged in the long term are located. Basically, it's the spraying of a black, tar-like substance on the floor, wheel wells and other exposed areas on the underside of the car. This substance hardens and acts as a permanent shield against moisture, salt and other elements.

2 - Floor mats

Take the time to check with your dealer to find the best floor mats for your vehicle. Rubber mats are used to protect the carpet and their composition makes them do a better job. Over time, dirt, stains and grime can seep in and damage the carpet underneath. In addition, with our climate where there is a lot of bad weather, we talk about protection against humidity and calcium. The ultimate goal is to prevent the formation of rust over time.

3 - Paint sealer or wrap

There are different ways to protect the body of your car. Some apply a wax before winter. This provides some protection, but for a more effective shield, consider applying a paint sealer or wrap. Basically, these approaches wrap the paint on your vehicle and protect it from everything winter can send them harmful (rocks, salts, debris, etc.), not to mention UV rays. Once again, at the dealership, we have solutions for you.
