The multiple personalities of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Sometimes a model may interest us as consumers, but the trims offered or the type of engine it has is not suitable for us. With the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, that's unlikely to happen, as the popular compact car reveals itself under multiple personalities, just like the buyers who are interested in it.

If you like quietness, you can opt for the sedan, or the wagon and its versatility. If you enjoy driving in the open air when the weather permits, one of the convertibles in the lineup is sure to please you. Then, if it's the aesthetics that's important to you, the coupe version is probably for you with its lines that are as fluid as they are spectacular.

So, there's something for every body style. But that's not all, because if performance is your thing, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has something for you.

For example, with the C 300 4MATIC trim level, the C-Class is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. That's enough for brisk driving, but the emphasis is on smoothness with this approach. Every style of the 2021 C-Class can take advantage of this powertrain, which works in concert with a nine-speed automatic transmission that's unique to the entire lineup.

With the AMG C 43 versions, the front-mounted engine is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 capable of 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. Here, things start to get serious, especially with a 4.7-second to 0-100 km/h time. The philosophy here is one of compromise; comfort when you want it, performance at your fingertips.

Then, looking at the AMG 63 and 63 S models, there's no doubt that Mercedes-Benz is addressing the driver in you. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 is at your service and offers 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the C 63, 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque in the C 63 S. The 0-100 km/h? Just north and south of 4 seconds, respectively. At all times here, the sensations are in demand while the C-Class is ready for any prowess.

And with each version (300, 43 or 63), a host of packages are offered, again to satisfy your needs. Some focus on luxury, some on safety, some on looks. The key here is choice, and the C-Class is the master in this regard.

Lastly, here are the versions offered by body configuration.
