New Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Gets Lifestyle Update

The spectacular Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has always stood out on the road, and now it looks even more impressive with a range of improvements for the 2022 model year. The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe gets new wheels, trims, exterior colour options and an improved suspension to go along with a new limited edition. There’s a lot to love here with the new GT arriving in dealerships at the end of the year.

The changes to the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe are plentiful. For starters, the interior gets a new standard Widescreen Cockpit that houses the MBUX multimedia system and with AMG-specific displays and functions.

There are three new exterior colours available: spectral blue metallic and magno (matt), and cashmere white magno (matt). Overall the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is available in five matt finishes and five metallic shades along with two solid colours.

The suspension has been vastly improved to feature a new three-chamber air design that is complemented with two pressure limiting valves added to the outside of each damper. In making the change, AMG says the GT 4-Door will be more comfortable in Comfort mode, and even sportier in Sport and Sport + modes.

Powering the AMG GT is a 3.0-litre inline-6 out of the gate with 429 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. This engine carries over from the previous model as should the two AMG engines in the GT 63 and GT 63 S.

"We constantly maintain our AMG GT 4-Door Coupe at an outstanding technical level. With the current update and the exclusive edition, we are reaching out to the target groups that place the greatest value on individuality and an expressive lifestyle. In this way, we continue to develop our profile as a "Performance Luxury" brand and go on to substantiate this with tailor-made products and options. In addition, we will soon be presenting our first E PERFORMANCE hybrids in this model, thereby driving forward the electrification of the powertrain," says Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe combines performance and practicality like very few vehicles can. The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is essentially the same sports car as the AMG GT Coupe, but with the added benefit of having four doors and spacious rear seats along with a welcoming cargo area. The improvements made to the 2022 model will ensure that it continues to stand out as one of the premier performance cars on the market.
