Introducing the revamped 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé

The redesigned 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé is set to be the pinnacle of both style and performance, offering an electrified powertrain incorporated with mild hybrid technology for a truly remarkable driving experience. From substantial upgrades to standard equipment offerings to its cutting-edge MBUX infotainment system, this vehicle has everything you need to make a statement on the road. Rest assured that this elegant and dynamic car will live up to all expectations when it arrives in Canadian markets in early Q1 2024. Let’s take a look at what is new on the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé.

Engine Options: Advanced Four-Cylinder Electrified Units

The cutting-edge GLC Coupé features a highly sophisticated electrified driving experience. Its mild-hybrid system employs a second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG) and a highly efficient 48-volt onboard electrical framework. The innovative ISG technology greatly enhances the combustion engine's performance, particularly during low RPM operations. This is further boosted by the integration of a state-of-the-art turbocharger, resulting in unparalleled power and performance. The 48-volt electrical system enables advanced hybrid capabilities, such as smooth coasting, dynamic boosting, and highly efficient energy recuperation, which all contribute to heightened efficiency levels. Additionally, the advanced motors equipped with the cutting-edge ISG facilitate swift and seamless starts, ensuring a virtually imperceptible start/stop functionality for the driver, greatly enriching the overall driving experience.

The aerodynamic performance of the GLC Coupé has been considerably enhanced, achieving a remarkably low drag coefficient (Cd) of just 0.27 in its most aerodynamically optimized configuration. This represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, which had a Cd value of 0.30. The engineering team behind the vehicle's design employed a combination of advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and rigorous testing in an aeroacoustic wind tunnel to meticulously refine the GLC Coupé's aerodynamic drag and wind noise performance. By leveraging cutting-edge digital flow simulation technologies and thorough experimentation, the developers successfully achieved a three-hundredths reduction in the drag coefficient compared to the previous model, resulting in a more efficient and quieter driving experience for the GLC Coupé.

A More Luxurious and Spacious Interior

The all-new interior of the GLC Coupé boasts a contemporary and athletic design, making significant advancements in both style and function. As a standard feature, this luxurious model comes equipped with the cutting-edge AMG line inside, offering unmatched sophistication and elegance. The driver is greeted with an expansive 12.3-inch (31.2 cm) high-resolution LCD screen, which effortlessly hovers above the sleek wing profile and trim surface, providing crucial information at a glance. Additionally, an impressive 11.9-inch (30.2 cm) central display screen emerges from the center console, seamlessly floating above the trim surface, contributing to the modern aesthetics. Both the dashboard and the screen surfaces are meticulously angled towards the driver, ensuring optimum visibility, and enhancing overall user experience.

A More Welcoming Interior in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé

The updated dimensions of the new GLC Coupé highlight its powerful and athletic appearance. Measuring 4,763 mm in length, it has grown by 31 mm while also standing 5 mm taller than the previous model. The track widths have been broadened with an additional 6 mm at the front (now at 1627 mm) and 23 mm at the rear (totaling 1640 mm). This growth in size has led to a longer wheelbase, as well as extended front and rear overhangs. The width, however, remains unchanged at 1,890 mm.

The increased dimensions also mean an abundance of trunk space, making the GLC Coupé perfect for long-distance travels. The cargo capacity has been expanded to 545 liters, a significant increase over the previous GLC Coupé. When needed, this capacity can be extended to an impressive 1,490 liters – a 90-liter increase from the previous model. Furthermore, an automatic tailgate comes as standard, providing easy access to the spacious cargo area.

State-of-the-Art Technology Showcased in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé

The new 2024 GLC Coupé features a long list of significant improvements when it comes to available technology.

DIGITAL LIGHT Illumination: Equipped with LED High Performance headlamps as a standard feature, the innovative GLC Coupé also offers the cutting-edge DIGITAL LIGHT as an optional upgrade. This advanced lighting system utilizes a sophisticated matrix of LED lights within the headlight assembly that can be individually controlled to enhance visibility and functionality.

Enhanced Parking Capabilities: The 2024 GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé comes with an upgraded Parking package as a standard feature, featuring a 360-degree surround-view camera that provides drivers with a comprehensive view of their surroundings. This innovative package also incorporates a "transparent hood" function, allowing for a clear view of the area directly beneath the vehicle's front end, as well as active parking assist technology with PARKTRONIC, which can automatically detect suitable parking spaces and effortlessly guide the vehicle into the chosen spot.

Advanced Driver Assistance Package: The latest iteration of the Driver's Assistance package boasts a multitude of additional and improved functions, designed to enhance the overall driving experience. One example is the DISTRONIC active distance assist feature, which can automatically maintain a preset gap to the vehicle ahead on various road types, whether on highways, rural routes, or within urban areas, providing a greater sense of control and peace of mind for the driver.
