How to prepare your Mercedes-Benz vehicle this fall

Whether we like it or not, fall is upon us and for anyone who owns a vehicle, this season is the time to prepare his or her vehicle for the season that follows, winter.

Even if your vehicle is running perfectly at the end of the summer, you should still think about preparing it for the winter season. So here are a few tips on how to get ready, as well as a little advice for you, the driver.

1 - Tires

You still have time to think about installing your winter tires. However, now is the time to ask yourself if it's time to replace them. If you're wondering, it's probably because your vehicle is ripe for new tires. In order to provide the best possible service, we invite you to consult your Mercedes-Benz dealer who will be able to recommend the right tire for your vehicle. It's not enough to simply take advantage of winter tires, but the best winter tires for your Mercedes-Benz.

2 - 4MATIC

Chances are your Mercedes-Benz vehicle is equipped with 4MATIC all-wheel drive. In the summer, it's hard to see if it's working properly because it's invisible, imperceptible. In the winter, however, you don't want it to take time off. Consequently, during your fall maintenance routine, why not ask to have the system checked to make sure it will be ready to help you when the first bad weather comes?

3 - Liquids

In the summer, you don't feel too concerned about your vehicle's fluid levels. In winter, it's a different story. It is of course recommended to change them, and it is even more important to make sure that the antifreeze fluid is in place, just like the windshield washer fluid. In fact, consider dragging a case of the latter, as you know that the tank tends to empty quickly in winter driving conditions.

4 - Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy

Preparing your Mercedes-Benz vehicle for the winter is not too complicated a task, provided you show some discipline. However, are you also prepared for the cold season? To find out for sure, why not sign up for the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy? Every winter, workshops are offered in major cities across the country to give you the opportunity to put into practice winter driving techniques adapted to your vehicle. It's an investment in your safety, nothing less.
