2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. 2021 Audi A4: The Best Performance Sedan

Mercedes-Benz continues the tradition of automotive excellence with the 2021 C-Class lineup. It includes one of the best ranges of powertrains available in a production sedan, aside from its sporty, yet sophisticated looks and other refinements inside and out. Four well-equipped models are offered in this model year, providing more choices for a greater amount of driving enthusiasts.

Here, we compare the C-Class to a segment competitor, the Audi A4.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is designed for drivers who love performance

When refined performance counts, the C-Class offers a palette of options. The C 300 4MATIC features a base 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that has an output of 255 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque. This outperforms the Audi A4's base engine of 201 horsepower, and it also keeps up with the A4's mid-level engine, the 45 TFSI. The C 300 matches it in torque and is just a few horsepower below the 45 TFSI's output, and we are just getting started with the C-Class's powertrains.

The Audi A4's most powerful model, the S4, includes a turbocharged V6 that peaks at 349 horsepower. However, it doesn't hold up to the Mercedes-Benz AMG C-Class models. The AMG C 43 features a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 that outputs 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. The AMG C 63 reveals a handmade engine that boosts horsepower to 469, and the AMG C 63 S climbs one more notch with its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that generates 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

The performance potential of the C-Class is enhanced by the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. It is built for smooth and quick shifting and with more capability than the A4's seven-speed automatic transmission.

Experience spacious comfort and advanced technology in the 2021 Mercedes Benz C-Class

The C-Class is refined in many other ways. The cabin offers plenty of space for occupants with 1,060 mm of front legroom and 1,089 mm of front and rear headroom. This results in a more open cabin and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Technology choices feature an available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch centre screen, several driver assist options, and more. Mercedes-Benz also makes many packages and services that provide the tools and styling you need to make any C-Class model your own.
